A Time For Tulips

We on the SOFA are ramping up for the 2011 Fantasy Football Season and this year I'm predicting that that Beautiful Tulips will WIN IT ALL!!

UPDATE: It was brought to my attention that I re-posted the same email that I've sent out every year since 2011.  Irregardless....this is the year baby!

Make way for GuyRaoke

We hosted our 1st SOFAraoke event at Buffalo Wild Wings on Thursday.  Attendance was heavy and so was the breathing from the college co-eds who had NO idea what to do with the injection of middle aged testosterone that swept over their bar.

Gone were the paeans to Justin Bieber and the Jonas Brothers, replaced by "One Tin Soldier (Ode to Billy Jack)" and "The Night Chicago Died".  The SOFA Grand Poobah, Frazier, opened the night with his stirring rendition of "Shadows of the Night" by Pat Benatar, but it would not be the last time that the crowd erupted into cheers.  Brian  showed off his pipes and his chest hair when he entertained the crowd with "Sweet Melissa" and resident realtor Matt  proved that he can open hearts as well as houses with his in the original German "99 Luft Balloons".  AB reaffirmed the popular belief that Ukuleles are still SUPER dorky even when you're making up for "Broken Promises" and Whitney and Davet struck a blow for marriage equality with "I Got You Babe".   **

** Or at least that's how I imagine it would have gone.

Superboy Talks Playoffs...SOFA Fantasy Playoffs

SPECIAL TREAT:
It's playoff time for the SOFA Fantasy League and while the Beautiful Tulips have been wilting in the POOL (0 for 13), they are poised to bring the SOFAbardi Trophy back to its rightful home (strapped to frazier V's chest, for all the world to see).

Here's a link to the league if you want to check out the teams

To get the teams ready to compete, I enlisted the help of an old Friend, Ryan "Superboy" Werzyn (Henry Dean, take note - this guy was Superboy before you eclipsed him and stole his name)
As you remember, Superboy shared his fantasy punditry with our team owners a few seasons ago with a telephone interview each week.  He then parlayed that legendary Burgundyesque performance into a gig on ESPN 8 ("the Ocho") and then a short lived but well-received off-off Broadway rendition of "Road House: The Musical".  Well, he's back baby and ready to help The Tulips rearrange the chess pieces in preparation for Round 1 of of the playoffs with a Superboy Interview (conducted today at 2:30 and available for your review sometime tomorrow).
